Hey teacher....practice what you preach!

It's easy to put these motivational posters up on your classroom wall, and ask students to get encouraged by these inspirational quotes, but as a teacher am I modelling/trying any of these?

YES, I AM

The seed was sown in 2007, I was working towards my goal of losing weight. The only problem was that I was working towards a healthy body, but against it. My lifestyle had extremes- intense exercise or none, extreme amount of desserts opposed to starving myself to make up for hogging. Gymming was the apparent solution. I used to rise and shine at 4am, but it turned out to be one of those impractical habits which couldn't be sustained for long.
It took me three years to realise that I was shooting in the dark.
2010-2013 - Achievers always strive to excel, but I had turned into someone, not living up to their potential. I experienced temporary spurts of desire to lose weight , enrolled for yoga classes and gym, but it was quite inconsistent. While yoga helped increase my flexibility, I didn't gain much (satisfaction) in the area of weight loss.
2014 - I made an effort to become regular with my morning/evening walk, but never extended myself for a jog.
2015 - Things were on the turn, from walking to jogging, 3k to 6k, followed by a 12k on weekends.
2016- One off my bucket list - My first half marathon. It was quite a jump from 12 to 21k, but the smile of accomplishment made up for everything. Grateful to god for no major injuries.
